7/10/10 - What's Cooking and More!

I was surprised by the kids when they made markers for all the plants and seeds that we have. They did a beautiful job, too. One of the moms has a laminator, so we'll cover the labels and make stakes out of them. What a great job. These kids constantly
surprise me.

Tonight, I made a Turkish Dish - Baked Vegetable Fritters (Fırında Sebzeli Mücver) from the Almost Turkish website posted before. As I was wrapping up the recipe, I had the kids come inside and help ... after it was baked and delivered, they all LOVED it. It was a yummy recipe (even if we held off on the olives b/c most of the kids don't like them) and I totally enjoyed hearing them talk about it. I kind of think that they liked it out of peer pressure. Not sure on that, but they are at least giving veggies and herbs a try. So, with that ... I am all for peer pressure!

I got an email from Daris and Alex's family showing me the eggplant dish that they prepared on my vacation! HOT STUFF!

We'll keep you posted with the critter. And with the recipes! Stay cool! Big Hugs!
