Last night, my two buddies came over to water the garden. We also decided that it would be good to harvest some of the basil and cilantro. So, we had our first official herb harvest. (I've been snagging the herbs as needed for cooking!) The kids took their harvest to their grandparents house for dinner that night.
When they were done, we went our separate ways ... me to walk my guard dog (notice Bogey keeping an eye on the outdoor action?) and them to go to dinner. On my way back from walking, their father was coming home from work. Alex was excited to see her dad and to tell him about our harvest. She didn't see me at first. It gave me such a charge to hear her so excited to tell her dad about our garden activities. I can only image what they told their grandmother!
