From the beginning of Project Big Hugs, I wanted to make it a neighborhood project and get the kids really excited about it. To do that, I knew it would take a bit of ownership and personalization. I just wasn't exactly sure how to go about decorating the box so that all the kids would be interested.
I showed the planter box to a neighborhood friend and told her how I was torn as to how to personalize it. She came up with having the kids put their hand prints on it. PERFECT!!!
I hauled out a bunch of craft paints that I had as well as a every colored sharpie markers and the rest is history!!
