4/30/10 - Filling the Box (Round 3)

Friday afternoon, our final 6 Cubic Feet of potting soil was added. Honestly, I think that I could have done at least another 4 Cubic Feet .... but, I was done with buying and lugging the bags!

We're all excited to get planting and the kids are curious as to what exactly we're going to plant. I went to www.gardeners.com and planned several different options. But, no matter how much planning I've done, it really depends on what is available. Seeds are an option for sure -- next season! I got behind the curve in getting seedlings going. This experience is truly an experiment for me and for the kids. We're going to take good notes (or pictures) to remember what works well and what doesn't. Hopefully, our only challenge is that our box is TOO SMALL!

Now, we're waiting for Mother's Day to come. (That is when I was told by a seasoned gardener is the best time to plant in this area. Something about frost and all that good stuff.) The wait begins!

Now ... how can we personalize the planter?
